General Description

• His "corporeal" form:
• Monster friesian-like build
• Very muscular but also tall
• Thick mane and tail
• Twisted, blade horn, like a black silver mirror
• Large fangs
• Scaled beneath his soft coat
• Sometimes seen with leathern/shredded feather wings

Schattenlicht

Dante's "possession" which is the equivalent of Eve's "Fangmeler." Within this form his wings become more than just appendages but actually a second set of arms. His forelegs warp into hand-like clawed paws and his fangs are more pronounced. He has a long reptillian tail with a tuft of his tail hair pronounced on his backside and above the appendage. His demented horse head still retains its curved blade of a horn, plus more horns and spikes adorn his body. His eyes have a blue-white glow. He has black scale tattoos under his coat that glow like blue fire when in this form. His equine head is demented and somehow detached. He's also known as "Panzergeist." When in a fury, he explodes into blue flames - mane, tail, feathering and his eyes become blue fire. This effect can actually occur outside of his Schattenlicht form when he uses his powers, when charging, or if he has spent a great deal of time running around.

Personality

Born into the world with a stigma already hanging over his blade-like horn, Danté learned cruelty very early on. Labelled a "demon," his transformation and "demonic rages" put him apart from all the others in his homeworld. Because of his heritage, he is plagued by fits of anger driving him to near madness. In such a fit, he'll either run until his muscles snap or, if he should happen to be around people, remain completely and utterly pent-up.

His most evident quality is his endurance - both physically and mentally. He has suffered through three life times and it has given him a pragmatic and sardonic look on life. He still suffers from nightmares and considerable pain from the Ether energy collected in his cells - which is the basis for - and so, often, you will see him running laps or exerting himself physically to avoid outbursts. He is very methodical, collected and exact and often perceived as too serious. However, Danté enjoys a certain dark and sarcastic humour aswell as a quick wit. He tries to be a mentor to Eve and the other guardians by teaching them skills aswell as looking out for them.

Skills

Danté's most reknown power is The Os, an Ether-based power. Like Eve, he stores the energy in specialized cells throughout his body allowing him to manipulate Ether around him aswell as within him. His cells, however, are split. Each cell is capable of storing Ether therefore he has a greater capacity than she does. When not in his human form, he uses the Ether energy around him to convey his thoughts to others - a type of telepathy. He is further from the Ether plane in his human form and relies on his sword-fighting and archery skills. As Schattenlicht, he's closer to the Deep Ethereal plane and much more volatile. Physically blind, Danté sees in the "soul signature" spectrum - the colour and pattern energies held by each and every thing [creature, rock or plant]. He is also known as the "Panzergeist."

Hobbies

With small shocks of Ether, Danté enjoys combusting things. He loves fire and although he cannot manipulate the elemental energy, he can still produce a semblance of fire. When he's not beating the rage out of himself on a furious run around Osfyndelith, he prefers to pass the time teaching the other guardians various skills.

Notes/Comments

Originally conceived in 1993 - he's one of the oldest voices in my head. Dante has been my berzerker guardian since I was a little girl. He was, first and foremost, my protector and the first dream keeper. He has an unquenchable inner fire through all the torment I've seen him through and, occasionally, put him through. He will never stop fighting, never stop running, never stop trying. Not out of spite, not out of hope, out of sheer determination and strength of will. He is, without a doubt, my inner endurance. He has kept me alive through the tortures of childhood, the confusion of adolescence and the trials of adulthood. His history is LONG. He was born of a strange unicornis mare and an unknown deity earning him the title of "Demon Made Flesh" in his homeworld. He's technically a demigod. He has suffered three lifetimes worth of pain. The first, his original birth in the realm of Urd where he interferes with the realm of Eska. The second was his suffering in the blackness of eternity where he periodically slipped in and out of the dreams and nightmares of other sentient species aswell as his own. Through the dreams of a mortal human, he is thrown into the realm of Feranos where he encounters Eve. You might also notice his ties to a character of mine - Lullago Ifriniel. His demonic form, Schattenlicht, was put to paper in June 2007 - he was just a ferocious shadow of a thing prior to then. Danté's corporeal form was revamped in February 2008.
