FAQ

When did you start to draw?

I'm one of those who has been drawing since I could pick up a drawing tool... paint used to be my favorite and those awesome giant crayola crayons. I drew on EVERYTHING and was not content if I didn't. I spent the majority of my school life drawing straight into high school where I would sit in the hallways at lunch and draw. I took a few formal art classes outside of high school but I don't like working for a reward system. Being graded on my work is annoying.

How did you get your pen name?

Eve Reaper? Um... pure campy cheese? Mistress Reaper was a cheesey nickname [one of many] that some friends threw at me. I didn't want to use my real name at first when I started posting my art online. I imagine, by next year, it won't exist anymore as a pen name. As far as my alter-ego, Eve Reaper isn't her real name but demons can't go around giving out their true names, can they? *grins*

What's with all the shapeshifting?

Part of it goes with her story, part of it is my own ecclectic nature.

What do you listen to?

Marilyn Manson, In Flames and classical stuff mostly and movie soundtracks that I really love like Memoirs of a Geisha and Silent Hill. I listen to a lot. I'm not overly fond of pop, rap or black metal but I won't blow my brains out if someone puts it on. I have friends with different tastes so I'm fairly used to a variety. I have a little bit of everything on my playlist and I go through kicks of listening to certain artists like mad for awhile.

Dare I ask what inspires you?

It's funny because that's exactly how someone worded the question. Um... lots of stuff? Books I read, music I listen to, people I admire, artwork I oogle, films I see, a particular mood that sparks. I'll draw or write for almost any reason. Fans and critics alike have compared my junk to all sorts of styles. I've never actually attempted explaining what it is I create... it's just an irrepressable urge to put my brainmatter on paper... tried that once literally, very messy. ;p

Do you prefer drawings anthros or bizarre beasts? And what's with the eye flowers?

I have always drawn animals and I've never enjoyed realism because the notion of portraits and stuff was forced on me when my family learned I had something of a talent [props to those who do realism, you're awesome... I just can't do it]. In 1998, my best friend and I started really character creating and I was getting into drawing anthropomorphic beings. I drew them way before I knew what they were. I definitely adore drawing monsters and beasties of all shapes and sizes. I'm working on being able to draw everything contently but I'll always love my demons. As for eye flowers... I dream. I have a wild imagination and an even wilder subconscious. My dreams are really messed up.

You have... a lot in your head.

Yeah, I felt kind of evil for putting so much information on a website. You'll see it mostly on the character pages. There is a lot in my head but I've had years to put it together. I'm a packrat, some of my characters are from as far back as 1998 and some stories are revamps of even older junk. What's sad is I haven't put half of what's in my head on paper yet... I blame school.

You really just want a hug, don't you?

Hell yes. I'm a cuddle-whore. ^^

Think of something to ask me and I'll post it here.
