Fearless

Back

I woke up, thought I really woke up, and went to the bathroom. The bathroom was full of steam, my hair was wet, my flesh dripping, like I had just had a shower. I went over to the sink, presumably to rub that Apricot Scrub stuff on my face, only to find a porcelain blue bowl with grapes and a decaying heart... spiders and centipedes crawled out as I took a handful of the heart and grapes in my hand... squished them together... then took a bit of the mix and smeared it on my face.

I massaged it in and then splashed cold water in my face, six or seven times like I usually do, and then as the refreshing feeling was cooling my face I fell forward. I fell into dark waters, though I could see the sapphire blue and the light dancing above. I was in full diving gear with many others. Just then sharks began to circle... huge sharks... huge silver streaked sharks with gleaming ivory fangs... I floated there in awe... even as one swam right by me and torpedoed into another diver, tearing him apart. I could hear his garbled screams. Then there was a voice...

"Hello little kitten. Why do you not cringe in terror?" I turn in the water to see the large matriarch swimming around me. She swims at me, jaws open, and snaps her teeth shut infront of my eyes. I don't flinch.

      "Sweet thing..."

She begs me to pull a loosened tooth from her jaw and I use it to cut open the vinyl diving suit by my thigh... no blood... just to show her a symbol...

I feel her smile and then I actually wake up.
